131 pounds from the Garden Banks.

In June 2026, DTB’s Joey Maciasz landed a 131.31-lb cubera snapper at the Garden Banks, far offshore of Port Fourchon. It now sits at No. 1 in Louisiana’s state record book.

The same trip produced the 109.50-lb black grouper and the 30.97-lb dog snapper that top Louisiana’s lists too. Outdoor Life covered the trip, including why the cubera doesn’t qualify as an IGFA world record.

Cubera hold on deep structure far offshore. If a trophy snapper is on your list, ask the crew about the long-range trips.

Catches depend on season, conditions and current regulations. A photograph records a past catch, not a promise for your trip.
